DAY 5 I rode mostly solo today....and it was beautiful and scenic
Day 5 brings me from Sand point ID, to Thompson Falls Montana. I did most of the 90 mile ride solo today and stopped only once for a short lunch: maybe 15 mins total and i was very happy with my pace today averaging 18.9 miles. Good thing I did most my training this season solo -- I am used to riding alone! Today was spectacular scenery; gorgeous lakes, streams and mountains as this area is known for it's fishing (fly fishing). I came accross a few Swedish guys with all their gear on a 3 month bike tour (pic). Tomorrow will be a test 137 miles. we are entering the harder stages of the ride now and my butt is getting sore (literally). I hope that doesnt become a problem. Tonights hotel isnt the ritz carlton, but a scenic little spot -- but the smores for dessert are 5 star! keep praying for me and donating to the cause (JDRF) another couple hundred bucks came in today, were over $18,000 now!

Hang in there Uncle Ernie! Ibuprofin for the achie butt before the ride and after. Also,, dont forget the butt butter (A.K.A. Chamois Creme, which I am sure that at least one person in your group has).
