DAY 4
So the picture from yesterday is me and a kid named Greg who is 17! can you imagine? That kid is tough!
Todays ride starts in Spokane and ends in Sand point Idaho, we're now in a new state. 89 miles, 3100 ft elevation average, speed17.5. Lots of scenery today with lakes and rivers; it was refreshing to see the water. Today's lunch was at a state park: hamburgers and ice cream (see pic) which was the highlight of the day for some. I rode with Lon Halderman today for about 20 miles. He's the guy that puts this tour on and originally did RAM (Ride Across America) in 8 days! His wife was the one who pioneered riding through the night with a headlamp.... he's a very strong rider. Otherwise, I rode most of today by myself. My roommate has hurt his knee so is taking it easy. Seems like a lot of people are still finding their legs and somewhat tentative -- I'm feeling very good right now, but the test will come in a few days. We ended in Sandpoint ID. tomorrow we head to Thompson Falls Montana. Really enjoying life right now!
